Welcome to another edition!

There’s all sorts of eco and exciting new to share this week.

Where do I start?

A new campaign popped into my radar called TakeOut WithOut

Join the campaign to reduce restaurant waste!

If you’re like me than you try to remember to bring your own take out box or even utensils/kitchen towel when necessary. Quite commonly, I get dirty or blank stares for REFUSING a  plastic bag, fork, spoon or even condiments sometimes. I feel like I’m saving the employee time by taking away a few extra steps (apparently those extra steps are really important & personal to some.). When I go to the deli I take my containers with me. They love not having to package up my requests.

I’m happy to see a campaign out there like this! Reducing waste is what it’s all about!

According to their website:

It takes approximately 20 seconds to put our food into take out containers? Convenient? No, it’s actually inconvenient since the packaging can remain in our landfills forever, causing continued damage to us and our world. The American population tosses out enough paper bags and plastic cups, forks and spoons every year to circle the equator 300 times (www.cleanair.org). TakeOutWithOut exists to help you to fill your stomach, not the landfill.

Have you heard of an EarthShip? A eco home for modern living – the ultimate sustainable dream home. I definitely want to vacation in Taos, New Mexico so that I can have the opportunity to rent one out for a week. You can buy an EarthShip too and become part of the community! Wish they had EarthShip communities in California. I’m thinking a stay at the very least!

Water is one of the most precious resources on the planet… yet every day we take this one resource that keeps us alive for GRANTED. Catch the full documentary of FLOW- For the Love of Water; at Twilight Earth (one of my favorite eco sites!).

My son is thoroughly enjoying Healthy Times teething biscuits. We buy the dairy, wheat, and soy free ones! Maple flavored.  Today, I’m making him some flax crackers from a Raw Baby food book I bought awhile back.

Yesterday, I made a raw cream out spinach soup out of the same recipe book and froze the remaining contents. I used my So Easy Baby food trays! I bought these trays when I was preggo with Tristan and they’ve really come in handy for homemade baby food storage and other misc. storage. They’re BPA free and my favorite part is the tray lid… no freezer burn! Yeah! It looks like they now have a toddler recipe book.

I’ve been searching for homeschooling supplies and looking into curriculum and I came across this useful tool… it’s called an EarthCycle calendar. It’s used to teach children about the year cycle of months, seasons, weather and growth. But also serves as a place to record events, birthdays, etc.

Today, we are celebrating a victory! After months of elimination communication with Clark… it paid off this morning. Clark  went poo-poo & pee -pee in the potty!

bros,

Taken 2 days earlier

Clark is sitting on the Baby Bjorn potty and the eco tot is on the Boon Potty Bench!

Woohoo!! :)

Glad you are using the potty and that you included this topic in your blog!

We used infant pottying with our third and enjoyed it very much, were delighted to start and finish sooner than we had with traditional delayed toilet learning.

Here are a few links for anyone wanting to read up on the practice:

Resources include the “Infant Potty Training” book and “Potty Whispering” DVD.

    Happy Pottying!
