Howdy! Boys & Girls! How are ya? Things are a bit busy ’round here! Which is why I’m LOVEN’ the new series. Gives me the chance to unload everything that’s been on my mind. It’s a mind spill, it’s brain waves, it’s {tidbits of green}!!
Okay, excuse my dorkyness today but I can’t help myself!
SO, I told ya about the RetroRazor a few weeks back and NOW I’m ready to report! HOLY GREEN SHAVING… Honestly, I’m not amplifying this review because RetroRazor was kind enough to donate one…
I’m just spreading the green gospel about em’ in hopes to encourage people to shave green.
Love at first shave!
Ladies, you have nothing to worry about. All aspects were covered er, uncovered and I’m NEVER going back to using plastic again! No way, no how! Simple, easy, and EFFECTIVE. I’ve never had shaves so good in my life that have me feeling like singing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah afterwards. I’ve got to admit that I was a bit nervous but there’s nothing to be nervous about; really!
Blade preference
I think it will depend on the individual as far as the type of blade you will like but so far I like the Derby’s best! I even checked out my local Walgreens and to my surprise they carry stainless steel replacement blades. Woohoo! The Derby blades offer such a close shave, it’s great. I seriously thought that I was going to have to live with stubby looking legs. I thought as I aged my hair grew thicker which is the reason I had a shadow or black stubble. I’d shave and shave over the same spot and still get the same results. Not the case at all with the RetroRazor- AT ALL. I love the close shave- what a difference a REAL razor makes!
How many shaves per blade?
So far, I’ve only had to change mine twice. It’s typically 3-6 shaves a blade…but again that all depends person to person!
All in all…
I’m happy that I don’t have to buy disposables or even attempt to go the electric route. My underarms are spotless- no black appearance under there either. I don’t feel like a man anymore. I feel so soft and well, sexy after using the ultra fabulous RetroRazor, no kidding around. I even thought that it might be a little heavy to handle and use. It’s actually quite light and I don’t even notice the weight because it has a good grip to it. I’ve been using shaving creme (Key Lime Coconut) made by Kiss My Face but I want to experiment using shaving soaps. Slow and steady wins this shave race and as the owner will tell you “it’s quite mediative”…. well, folks I must say it is AND I’m totally hooked. I’m pretty sure everyone will be getting a RetroRazor Starter Kit from me for Christmas!

I’ve been following your blog for some time now and I don’t think I’ve ever read a review as rave as this one! Really makes me want to try it. Reading the Retro Razer story, it made me giggle to learn that it all got started thanks to a tour for Rick Steves . . . one of my favorite PBS people!

Wow, after the first review I wasn’t quite sold, the idea of shaving with one freaked me out too much. But now, after that super excited tale of shaving bliss, I may just have to give it a try!
I liked the “add” on the reviews page that said “I may be lawyer, but I shave like a prince”, kinda cheesy, so of course I loved it!

So, what is GHD IV Styler Stockists all about? We are basically a comparison site for GHD Hair Straighteners – or should i say genuine GHD Hair Straighteners.

Super cool razor!! I would love to try it out sometime as I have never heard of it until you reviewed it.
One detail from the Retro Razor Story is that Classic Shaving is so amazing that Gillette and Schick, the original inventors of Safety Razors, have been suppressing it in favor of high profit multi-blade razors.

I’ve been wanting to ditch my Gilette for some time. Don’t want to wax though. Would love to try this safety razor.
Love that the founder discovered these in Italy – so many good things come from that country!
Disappointed to hear that Gilette started out making safety razors but makes more $ selling disposables.
I am curious about the Teflon blade? That choice is not eco-friendly. It’s not heating up so no toxic gases released. But, disposing in the landfill will have its hazards. Plain blade for me.
Santa may have to bring to me if I don’t win it!

I like that replacement blades are between $.15 and $.40 each. That would save a ton of money here in our house

So totally NOT surprising: “Classic Shaving is so amazing that Gillette and Schick – the original inventors of Safety Razors, have been suppressing it in favor of high profit multi-blade razors.”

Who’s surprised that the biggest names in shaving in America are covering up a better and cheaper product while raking in huge profits and filling up our landfills with more unnessecary plastic. Pretty typical!

This razor looks GREAT! Here’s the line that grabbed my attention:
“Replacement blades are Cheap, Dirt Cheap! $.15 to $.40 cents per week for the best shave you can get.”
That’s AMAZING! I can’t believe how much the blades we get now cost. And I had no idea that multiple blades lead to drag and nicks/cuts/burn!
Thanks for the chance to enter! Fingers crossed.

double edge razor blades are so great because they use some 97% less waste than a crummy plastic disposable AND you get a better shave! I shall share with my tweeps!
