La Mama Naturale’ asked
CEO of Stockmar/Mercurius
Peter Piechotta answered…
When was Stockmar founded?
Stockmar was founded 1922
Why is sustainability important to your company?
Yes we know that sustainability is important for the company because as
every social organism we depend not only on the physic(economic) part of life,
we also depend on the social and ecological part. No organism can stay
alive in the future if it does not balance between the threefold nature
of our life.
What is the best selling item?
The best selling item is the tin box with 8 crayons
When children/adults use your products, what standard do you think it sets?
Important is that the products are 100% safe and that the products nurturing the senses
of the children and foster creativity the most important force we need to for new ideas
to create sustainability for example.
Stockmar performs rigorous tests on there products to determine levels of toxicity in which you adhere to higher standards,
that of food provisions which are much stricter than the toy industry.
Why is that important to your company?
A good relation between customer and supplier can only be built up if both can trust
each other. Our customer can trust us that we do everything to make our products
as safe as possible. He can trust us that safety will be for us an ongoing process of
improvement.
By using raw materials your company cares about the environment and the health of their customers…
any advice for those companies who are thinking about “going green”?
As a manufacturer it is not only important to have a good and transparent relation to your customer.
It is also very important to built up a relation to you supplier of raw materials.
and the quality we expect and why we expect, helps to create a better understanding for
each other and built up trust. The supplier knows that we do not only look
at the price, we also look at the whole path the raw materials goes.
Sustainability means for us creating a network of people who believe that good quality creates
good thoughts and good thoughts create good quality.
