Figuring out a solution to chloroflourocarbon’s is not an easy task!  What is a chloroflourocarbon? Courtesy of Free Dictionary – it is:

Any of various halocarbon compounds consisting of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine, once used widely as aerosol propellants and refrigerants. Chlorofluorocarbons are believed to cause depletion of the atmospheric ozone layer.

Depletion of the ozone layer?? It can’t be…well, yes, it CAN BE! So, what are we, ladies and gents to do??

You can start by taking a look at the products in your home that require aerosol propellants which have CFC’s in them. Encourage companies to go non aerosol. Aerosol is burning a whole in our planet. There are quite a few products out there that are non aerosol. For instance, in the kitchen we use a Misto sprayer to coat our pans with oil. It’s a nifty lil gadget. Many perfumes require the use of aerosol which is why – aromatherapy works out really well because they’re is not spritzing. In fact, before I started using the Illuminated Perfume collection I was using an organic perfume by Rich Hippie- all of their perfumes are roll on! I love the roll on effect! There’s just something about it…smooth…sexy…oh wait…back to the post…by eliminating CFC’s in the atmosphere you’re helping the ozone layer from depleting- burning a hole into it basically. They’re a lot of companies using pump sprays…look for them instead…almost all steel cans contain aerosol!! What’s important to rememeber as well, is how to recycle areosol cans. I found a website that you might find helpful with lots and lots  of information and facts about areosol products, the science behind it and usage.

and if you’re a teacher (homeschooling counts) you can get a instructional kit with DVD on raising aerosol awareness in the classroom!!

Thanks for the link to the kit. I do homeschool my son and we were discussing recycling before (he is 13). I use the air therapy from avon, watkins and also at trader joes they have an orange scent I like.
